Paid Media & Ad-Spend
Is Your Ad Spend On Track, or Just Spent?
Most ad dashboards tell you what you spent. ARIA tells you whether that spend is pacing toward what you actually expected this month — and flags the campaign quietly drifting off course before the invoice does.
What This Guide Covers
Spend as a signal, across every channel
Every ad platform will happily show you a total. Almost none of them will tell you, honestly, whether that total is on pace with what you expected — or whether a campaign quietly started overspending on day six and nobody noticed until the monthly invoice. This guide is about reading ad-spend data as a signal, across every channel you actually run, instead of checking a single platform's dashboard in isolation.
This is ARIA's read of your spend, not a campaign-management pitch — it doesn't run your ads for you; it tells you what your own spend data is actually saying.
The Method
Pacing is the number that actually matters
The number most owners watch is total spend. The number that actually predicts a problem is pacing — whether spend-to-date is tracking toward the number you expected by month's end, based on how much of the month has actually passed. A campaign that's spent 60% of its monthly budget on day ten isn't "doing great" — it's on track to run out of budget three weeks early, or it's about to blow past the number someone signed off on.
Reading pacing well means treating every spend number the way the rest of ARIA's method treats every other signal: notice when actual spend diverges from expected spend (signal), form a plain guess at why — seasonality, a bid change, a new competitor in the auction (hypothesis) — and decide, with actual evidence, whether to let it ride or step in. "It felt like we were spending a lot" is a gut call. "We were 40% ahead of pace on day twelve, three days running" is a decision you can actually defend.
The same discipline applies across channels, not just within one. A single-channel ad dashboard — just Google, just Meta — misses the real picture the moment a site runs paid media on more than one platform at once, which is most sites.

You already have the spend data. What most dashboards skip is the one question that actually matters: is it pacing toward what you expected? Connect your ad accounts and let ARIA show you where your spend actually stands today, across every channel you run.
